    Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD):
    The OECD was established in 1961 principally as a forum for the world's main industrial democracies to discuss and to coordinate their econimic policies. It's declared aims are to share and promote "principals of market economy, pluralist democracy and respect for human rights". G8: The G8 is an informal forum of the seven leading western economies (Canada, France, Germany, Italy , Japan, UK and USA) plus the Russian Federation which meets at regular summits to discuss matters of mutual political, economic and security interest.

    Community of Portuguese - Speaking countries:
    The Community aims to promote closer political, economic and security co-operation between member states and increase the influence of lusophone countries in the international community.

    Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC):

    OPEC is an organisation of oil-producers and exporters which aims to co-ordinate products, export levels and prices to maximise the benefit to it's members. OPEC members are responsible for about 40% of world oil production.

    Asia - Pacific Co-operation Forum (APEC):
    The Apec Forum is the primary vehicle for promoting trade and economic co-operation in the Asia - Pacific region.
